Scott County Regional Authority Awards $1.48 Million

bringing total funding since 1991 to nearly $72 Million

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of over $1.48 million for the fall 2014 grant cycle.

Several representatives spoke of the value and impact these awards will have for their organizations:

Kelly Giovanine, Executive Director, Bettendorf Public Library Foundation – $12,000, Study Room

Joel Franken, Creative Arts Academy Department Chair, Davenport Community School District – $70,000 ($140,000 total award – spring & fall 2014 grant cycles), Creative Arts Academy of the Quad Cities

Tim Lobb, Lead Pharmacist, Community Health Care – $63,900, Automated Pharmaceutical Dispensing Machine

Gloria Cypret, Gabe’s Dream Team Founder, Shane’s Inspiration/Gabe’s Dream Team – $45,000, All-Inclusive Universally Accessible Play Equipment at Vander Veer Park 

The Authority received a total of 109 requests for funding totaling $3,125,884.

A total of $1,480,625 was awarded to 59 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $71,979,676 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

The next grant cycle will be in the spring of 2015 with grant applications available March 1 and due April 1.  The grant application will be available on the SCRA website: www.ScottCountyRegionalAuthority.com.

 Scott County Regional Authority Awards Over $1.4 Million 

bringing total funding since 1991 to $70 Million

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of over $1.4 million for the spring 2014 grant cycle.

Several representatives spoke of the value and impact these awards will have for their organizations:

Jeff Blackwell, Achieve Quad Cities Executive Director, Community Foundation of the Great River Bend – $36,800, Achieve Quad Cities Data Warehouse

Amber Pribyl, Office Manager, Living Lands & Waters – $30,000, MillionTrees Project

Steve Muller, CEO, The Homestead – $50,000, Children’s Autism Project (CAP) – Davenport Center

The Authority received a total of 115 requests for funding totaling $3,227,521.

A total of $1,408,770 was awarded to 55 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $70,499,051 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

bringing total funding since 1991 to $69 Million

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of over $1.5 million for the fall 2013 grant cycle.

Several representatives spoke of the value and impact these awards will have for their organizations:

Scott McConnell, Lead Facilitator, Safer Foundation – $7,315, Youth Empowerment Program Classroom Supplies

Randy Zobrist, Executive Director/CEO, River Bend Transit – $21,500, Public Transit Vehicle for Iowa Quad Cities/Iowa City Route

Teri Johnson, President/Founder, Jason’s Box, Inc. – $35,000, Establishment of Veterans Resource Center

The Authority received a total of 132 requests for funding totaling $3,762,596.

A total of $1,533,110 was awarded to 61 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $69,090,281 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of over $1.6 million for the spring 2013 grant cycle.

Tom Swanson, Executive Director, River Music Experience – $26,764, Venue Staging and Technical Upgrades

Donald Doucette, Chancellor, Eastern Iowa Community College – $53,580, Interactive Video Training System for First Responders

Marc Heinzman, Zoo Director, Niabi Zoo – $25,000,Educational Animal Exhibit

Caren Laughlin, Marketing Director, River Bend Foodbank – $90,000, New Warehouse

The Authority received a total of 131 requests for funding totaling $3,374,255.

A total of $1,649,982 was awarded to 64 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $67,557,171 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of over $1.56 million for the fall 2012 grant cycle.

Denise Zimmer, Head of Environmental & Facility Services, Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency and Facilitator of Operations for Coats for Kids – $19,000,Dr. David E. Lane Coats for Kids

Rick Schloemer, Director, Scott County Housing Council – $80,000,Rehabilitation of Single and Multi-Family Housing

Nichole Myles, Vice President of Education, Putnam Museum – $37,500 ($75,000 total award over two grant cycles),Create Region’s FirstSTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Learning Center

Rachael Mullins Steiner, Assistant to the Superintendent for Community Relations and Partnerships – $265,708, total of 7 grants to the Davenport Community School District

The Authority received a total of 112 requests for funding totaling $2,896,507.

A total of $1,568,552 was awarded to 63 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $65,907,189 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of over $1.65 million for the spring 2012 grant cycle.

Jeff Reiter, Interim Co-Director, Family Museum – $37,500, Rethink, Reshape, Reinvent – New Learning Environments ($75,000 multi-cycle grant)

Deb Gustafson, Executive Director of the Child Care and Family Services Branch, Scott  County Family YMCA – $30,000, Fairmount Pines Educational Intervention and Enrichment Program

John Byrne, PhD, Secretary, Bettendorf/PV Youth Baseball Association – $27,000, Kiwanis Park – Baseball Field Lighting

Fred Burnham, DMD, Bethany for Children & Families – $49,000, Mobile Comprehensive Exam and Sealant Program ($98,000 multi-cycle grant)

The Authority received a total of 132 requests for funding totaling $3,130,245.

A total of $1,650,235 was awarded to 75 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $64,338,637 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

Allan Ross, Executive Director, Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities – $7,500, Community Programming in conjunction with the Anne Frank Exhibit at Putnam Museum

Jay Pearce, General Manager, WVIK – $35,000, Digital Conversion

Regina Haddock Clewell, Founder, Dress for Success Quad Cities – $30,000, Equipment & Supplies to Launch New Services for Unemployed Women

Brian Foy, Assistant Coordinator for Low Incidence Disabilities, Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency – $14,256, Hearing Aids and Cochlear Implants for Preschool Children

The Authority received a total of 117 requests for funding totaling $3,350,354.

A total of $1,604,290 was awarded to 62 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $62,688,402 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

Mary Lou Kaney, Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing, St. Ambrose University – $45,000, Human patient simulators

Kathy Wine, Executive Director. River Action, Inc. – $15,000, Plants, materials and trails for Quad Cities Wild Places

Becky Clark, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Club of the Mississippi Valley – $20,000, Roosevelt Club Rec Room upgrade

The Authority received a total of 124 requests for funding totaling $3,389,459.

A total of $1,646,196 was awarded to 72 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $61,084,112 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of over $1.7 million for the fall 2010 grant cycle.

Several representatives spoke of the value and impact these awards have had or will have for their organizations:

Jim Wichman, Principal, Riverdale Heights Elementary/Pleasant Valley Community School District, Service Dog – $2,700, Paws for a Purpose Service Dog

Julia Blazevic, Director, The Garden Growers Program/Iowa State University Extension – $9,500, Community Garden

Emily Gordon, Director, Rick’s House of Hope – $33,922, ADA ramp and fire rated ceiling & doors for new facility

The Authority received a total of 126 requests for funding totaling $3,371,391.

A total of $1,724,613 was awarded to 75 projects benefiting residents of Scott County; $573,262 to go to local schools; $575,178 to local governments, and $576,173 to various non-profit entities.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $59,437,916 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of $1.5 million for the spring 2010 grant cycle.

LaWanda Roudebush, Library Director, Davenport Public Library – $66,000 (final installment of $566,000 total commitment awarded over 5 cycles), Eastern Avenue Branch Library – Bernard Goldstein Community Room

Chris Allers, Oral Health Care Coordinator, Bethany for Children & Families – $10,000, Give Kids A Smile Program

Jayne Ruckoldt, Deputy, Scott County Sheriff’s Department – $16,400, Ru2 Fast speed display signs

Kimberly Gasaway, Science Curriculum & Instruction Specialist PreK-12, Davenport Community School District – $7,883, FIRST Lego Robotics Program equipment

The Authority received a total of 129 requests for funding totaling $3,589,504.

A total of $1,501,059 was awarded to 70 projects benefiting residents of Scott County; $496,423 to go to local schools; $500,000 to local governments, and $504,636 to various non-profit entities.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $57,713,303 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.
