Scott County Regional Authority Awards Over $1.5 Million

bringing total funding since 1991 to $76.5 Million

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of over $1.5 million for the spring 2016 grant cycle.

Several representatives spoke of the value and impact these awards will have for their organizations:

Rusty Boruff, Founder & Executive Director, One Eighty – $15,000, Offering After School Activities for Davenport’s At-Risk Youth

Scott Hock, Director, Davenport Parks and Recreation – $45,000, Miracle Field of the Quad Cities

Lynn Meyers, Urban Farm Project Coordinator, Davenport Community School District – $29,528, Mid City High: Urban Farm Project

Kim Kidwell, Director, Family Museum – $35,000, “The Sky’s the Limit” Outdoor Learning Environment

The Authority received a total of 106 requests for funding totaling $3,703,139.

A total of $1,529,939 was awarded to 53 projects benefiting residents of Scot

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $76,564,440 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

The next grant cycle will be in the fall of 2016 with grant applications available September 1 and due October 1.  The grant application will be available on the SCRA website: www.ScottCountyRegionalAuthority.com.

 

Spring 2016 Applications

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Scott County Regional Authority has approved a new online grant application process for the spring 2016 grant cycle which is now available.  Paper applications will no longer be accepted.  Spring cycle applications are for programs or projects to be completed between June 1, 2016 and May 31, 2017.

All applicants must carefully read and follow directions for submission of grant requests as described on the online application forms.

The deadline for online submission is April 1 with awards announced in late May.

Any non-profit organization which possesses a 501(c)(3) status under the IRS Tax Code, government organization or education institution can apply by completing the online grant application.  Applicants must have a local office, a local corporate board of directors, incorporated in the state of Iowa or chartered by the U.S. Government and serve residents of Scott County.

Qualifying organizations may access the grant application on the website at https://www.scottcountyregionalauthority.com.  Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on April 1.  Any questions regarding this process please email [email protected] or call (563) 344-2626.

 Scott County Regional Authority Awards Over $1.5 Million

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of over $1.5 million for the fall 2015 grant cycle.

Several representatives spoke of the value and impact these awards will have for their organizations:

Sarah Hite, Development Director, The Salvation Army of the Quad Cities – $92,063, Family Service Center Flooring Replacement

Lance Sadlek, Galvin Fine Arts Center Director, St. Ambrose University – $51,380, Allaert Auditorium, Galvin Fine Arts Center Enhancements

Theron Schutte, Superintendent, Bettendorf Community School District – $220,000 ($603,472 total award over three cycles), Reconstruction and Expansion of Tennis/Pickleball Facilities

Tim Schiffer, Executive Director, Figge Art Museum – $18,910, Wireless Infrastructure for Beam Pro Robot for Remote Visits by Homebound Individuals

The Authority received a total of 102 requests for funding totaling $3,034,875.

A total of $1,514,962 was awarded to 59 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $75,034,501 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

The next grant cycle will be in the spring of 2016 with grant applications available March 1 and due April 1.  The grant application will be available on the SCRA website: www.ScottCountyRegionalAuthority.com.

Scott County Regional Authority Awards Nearly $1.54 Million

bringing total funding since 1991 to $73.5 Million

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of nearly $1.54 million for the spring 2015 grant cycle.

Several representatives spoke of the value and impact these awards will have for their organizations:

Donald Doucette, Chancellor, Eastern Iowa Community College District – $50,000 ($250,000 total award over five cycles), Scott Community College Urban Campus in Downtown Davenport

Larry Makoben, Chairperson, Bettendorf Parks & Recreation – $50,000 ($100,000 total award over two cycles), Forest Grove Park Universally Accessible Playground

Diane Nelson, CEO, Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois – $75,000 ($150,000 total award over two cycles), Camp Conestoga Renovation

Michael Miller, Executive Director, River Bend Foodbank – $10,000, Healthy Weekend Food for School Backpack Program

The Authority received a total of 120 requests for funding totaling $3,317,648.

A total of $1,539,863 was awarded to 74 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $73,519,539 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

bringing total funding since 1991 to nearly $72 Million

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of over $1.48 million for the fall 2014 grant cycle.

Several representatives spoke of the value and impact these awards will have for their organizations:

Kelly Giovanine, Executive Director, Bettendorf Public Library Foundation – $12,000, Study Room

Joel Franken, Creative Arts Academy Department Chair, Davenport Community School District – $70,000 ($140,000 total award – spring & fall 2014 grant cycles), Creative Arts Academy of the Quad Cities

Tim Lobb, Lead Pharmacist, Community Health Care – $63,900, Automated Pharmaceutical Dispensing Machine

Gloria Cypret, Gabe’s Dream Team Founder, Shane’s Inspiration/Gabe’s Dream Team – $45,000, All-Inclusive Universally Accessible Play Equipment at Vander Veer Park 

The Authority received a total of 109 requests for funding totaling $3,125,884.

A total of $1,480,625 was awarded to 59 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $71,979,676 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.

The next grant cycle will be in the spring of 2015 with grant applications available March 1 and due April 1.  The grant application will be available on the SCRA website: www.ScottCountyRegionalAuthority.com.

bringing total funding since 1991 to $70 Million

The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of over $1.4 million for the spring 2014 grant cycle.

Several representatives spoke of the value and impact these awards will have for their organizations:

Jeff Blackwell, Achieve Quad Cities Executive Director, Community Foundation of the Great River Bend – $36,800, Achieve Quad Cities Data Warehouse

Amber Pribyl, Office Manager, Living Lands & Waters – $30,000, MillionTrees Project

Steve Muller, CEO, The Homestead – $50,000, Children’s Autism Project (CAP) – Davenport Center

The Authority received a total of 115 requests for funding totaling $3,227,521.

A total of $1,408,770 was awarded to 55 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.

This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $70,499,051 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.
