Scott County Regional Authority Awards Nearly $1.6 Million
bringing total funding since 1991 to $78.1 Million
The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of nearly $1.6 million for the spring 2016 grant cycle.
Several representatives spoke of the value and impact these awards will have for their organizations:
Gloria Cypret, Chair, Gabe’s All-Inclusive Play Village – $37,500 ($75,000 total award over two cycles), Gabe’s All-Inclusive Play Village at Vander Veer
Mike Zimmer, High School Principal, Pleasant Valley Community School District – $35,000, Manufacturing Lab Machinery Update and Expansion
Mary Macumber Schmidt, Board Member, Ecumenical Housing Development Group – $35,000, New Van for Fairmount Pines Housing Complex
Daniel Sheridan, Artistic Director, Junior Theatre, Inc. – $30,175, Nighswander Community Theatre Interior Renovation
The Authority received a total of 110 requests for funding totaling $3,348,225.
A total of $1,599,799 was awarded to 65 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.
This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $78,164,239 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.
The next grant cycle will be in the spring of 2017 with grant applications available March 1 and due April 1. The grant application will be available on the SCRA website: www.ScottCountyRegionalAuthority.com.
