Scott County Regional Authority Awards Nearly $1.6 Million
bringing total funding since 1991 to $81.3 Million
The Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) announced today awards of nearly $1.6 million for the fall 2017 grant cycle.
Several representatives spoke of the value and impact these awards will have for their organizations:
Rick Schloemer, Executive Director, Scott County Housing Council – $60,690, Rehabilitation of Single and Multi-Family Affordable Housing
Amy Blair, LeClaire City Council Member, LeClaire Park & Recreation Commission – $50,000, Huckleberry Park Green Space Project
Aaron Maurer, Stem Lead, Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency – $21,500, The NAO Robot: Creating Advanced Robot Learning Experience for Our Children and Community
The grant announcement host organization also spoke of the impact that a previous award had on their organization:
Daniel Sheridan, Artistic Director, Junior Theatre, Inc. – $30,175 awarded in the fall 2016 grant cycle, Nighswander Community Theatre Interior Renovation
The Authority received a total of 114 requests for funding totaling $3,226,434.
A total of $1,599,897 was awarded to 64 projects benefiting residents of Scott County.
This brings SCRA funding since 1991 to $81,341,379 for the benefit of people and organizations in our community.
The next grant cycle will be in the spring of 2018 with grant applications available by March 1 and due by midnight on March 30. The grant application will be available on the SCRA website: www.ScottCountyRegionalAuthority.com.
